ROTHERHAM United defender Chris Swailes is looking for a positive reponse as the Millers face up to the Clarets tonight.

With first division survival at stake against Burnley's promotion seekers, the ex-Bury player - who worked under Burnley boss Stan Ternent at Gigg Lane - was looking for a home performance packed with pride.

"Our home form is going to be the key to our survival while we have to be looking to nick a few away wins as well, one just has to come some time, " he said.

"We always look a good team at home, it doesn't matter who we are playing, I fancy us against anyone including your Manchester Cities.

"Facing Burnley will be a hard game obviously but we should fear no one.

"There are several clubs around the bottom end of the table but it's vital we stay up and as long as we finish fourth from the bottom, it will be a job well done."

But the Millers have a battle to fight on their own ground ahead of tonight's game as Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore has issued a plea to the supporters to get behind the players and cut out all the recent abuse at home matches.

"I have been very disappointed at the reaction of some of the crowd, particularly a section of them who were very abusive last Saturday," said Moore.

"All this is completely uncalled for and it shows that the people concerned have set their expectations too high.

"We need to recreate the type of atmosphere we had when Millwall played here last season with all the supporters behind us.

"If we aren't careful, the players will be afraid of playing at home and that shouldn't be allowed to happen.

"Don't forget that, apart from Manchester City, our home record is as good as any other team in the division since the early part of the season.

"It should be a matter of the visiting teams being frightened of coming to Millmoor not the other way round. If spectators can't get behind the lads, they are better off staying away.

"The Burnley game is yet another big one for us and from a personal point of view it's one I could do without with my son, Ian, trying to score against us while we are trying to stop him.

"I went all through the Family at War build up for the Boxing Day game which was called off and now I have it all again.

"It's our game in hand and if we can pull off a win it will put us seven points clear of Walsall and that would be a big boost."
