ROVERS Reserves left it late against Sheffield Wednesday at Morecambe last night to claim the points with two goals in the last five minutes.

David McNamee and substitute Alan Morgan did the damage for Alan Murray's men after Pablo Bonvin had given the Owls a first half lead.

Rovers hammered Wednesday 4-0 a fortnight ago, but this was a much more keenly fought contest on a Christie Park pitch that needed to pass an inspection.

In a tight and keenly fought match on a bumpy pitch at Morecambe, the Owls had gone in 1-0 up at half time thanks to Bonvin.

The Argentinean arced home a 28th minute shot after winning a tussle for possession to edge Martin odge's team in front.

Wednesday keeper Richard Siddall put in an impressive display, denying James Thomas and Neil Danns.

After the interval, Rovers piled on the pressure but the fruits of their labours were a long time coming.

However, Morgan got behind the visiting defence to level on 85 minutes and McNamee volleyed home from close range with two minutes remaining.
