AN 80-year-old mugging victim who suffered a broken bone in her shoulder when she was attacked in Crawshawbooth is now recovering at home.

The pensioner received hospital treatment after the attack in Minor Street in which her shoulder bag was snatched.

She was returning home from Rawtenstall and had got off the X43 bus outside the post office in Crawshawbooth centre.

She walked up Major Street and was attacked in Minor Street at 12.30pm on Monday.

The victim was attacked by a man who got out of a white car. He is described as white, aged 25/26, 5ft 8ins tall of medium build with short, straight blond or fair hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a white round neck T-shirt. There was another man in the car. Anyone with informationcanm call Rossendale CID on 01706 237442.
