A PHYSICS whizzkid from Blackpool is celebrating after a quantum leap to the top.

Arnold School pupil Amy Preece, 18, right, has won a medal in the British Physics Olympiad, marking her out as one of the top physics students in the UK.

And Amy, of Green Avenue, Blackpool, has also won a highly-prized place to read physics at Oriel College, Oxford.
