MAY I ask that you and your readers spare a thought for the inhumane practice of transporting live animals for slaughter abroad and ask that they voice their abhorrence. Farmers are now asking that this cruel practice be recommenced.

Untold suffering is caused by the journeys. They should be slaughtered near the farm of rearing and sent as carcasses. Foot and mouth halted the exports but, as it comes to an end, farm animals are threatened with the resumption.

Please respect their right to share our earth with dignity. You can make a difference to end this miserable trade. Write to your MP and voice your concerns.
