WITH two goalkeepers and four experienced defenders sidelined, it is little surprise that Bradford have struggled in recent weeks.

But the Clarets' former Bantams star Robbie Blake has insisted: "There is no way they should be in the position they are at the moment."

The treatment room currently has Gary Walsh and Aidan Davison vying for space alongside David Wetherall, Peter Atherton, Robert Molenaar and Gunnar Halle.

That is one reason manager Nicky Law has brought in Blackburn Rovers defender Simon Grayson on loan for the next few weeks as well as Dundee United reserve keeper Alan Combe until the end of the season.

With the problems he has got there is likely to be just one change to the side that lost at Molineux with striker Eoin Jess joining Ashley Ward up front in place of Gareth Grant.

The former Blackburn striker is another who has struggled for fitness this season and according to Blake that is the main reason they are closer to the bottom three than the top six.

With 12 goals to his name Blake is still the club's top scorer but Ward moved to ten on Saturday and his former partner admitted: "I am sure he will take that off me.

"He has missed three months this season and had he not been out they would not be struggling as they are."

Andy Tod, who has been used as a striker this season, is currently slotting in alongside Andy Myers in the heart of the defence, flanked by Grayson on the right and Wayne Jacobs on the left.

At least winger Jamie Lawrence has recovered from his injury problems and he will feature in Law's side.

The new manager's sole aim this season is to make sure that the Bantams are not sucked into a relegation dog-fight.
