REGARDING the Victorian platform clocks removed from Blackburn station (LET, February 13), apparently Railtrack wants a suitable site as an alternative.
Here are two to consider -- Carnforth or Hellifield. Both these stations are like Blackburn's was -- old and should be preserved.
So, come on, Railtrack, donate them and let's have the timepieces working, which is more than the facilities are which have been renovated at Blackburn.
