BLACKBURN'S move for Galatasary defender Hakan Unsal is proving difficult to seal as Turkey are not part of the European Community.

"We have sorted out the deal with Galatasaray and the player but everything at the moment is subject to him being granted a work permit," explained Williams.

"He is an established international but he has been injured and that makes working out his percentage of performances a little difficult.

"Red tape can always threaten a deal but we are meeting with officials next week and we hope to have it all sorted out then."

That could mean Unsal being in line for a debut in the crucial derby match at the Reebok Stadium a week on Saturday.

Souness had hoped that the left-sided defender was set to give competition to Stig Bjornebye, especially as the Norwegian is himself suffering from a flu-like virus and is a doubt for Sunday's game.
