PRESTON North End's FA Cup heroes jet back into Britain with the instruction: "Get on with the league."

Boss David Moyes took a leaf out of Gian Luca Vialli's book by whisking his players away on a Mediterranean trip following Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Chelsea.

He hopes the break will help recharge his side's batteries ahead of tomorrow's (Friday) game away at Norwich. Moyes said after the Chelsea game that many of his players had proved they had what it takes to play in the Premiership and that he hoped it had given them the taste for it.

Now, however, they need to prove they have the ability to get there -- and the hard work begins at Carrow Road. Since Christmas Norwich have staged a revival and are currently two places above Preston, who clung on to 10th place despite not playing league football at the weekend.

A win would place North End on level terms with Norwich. A defeat would help widen the gap between the play-off spaces and midtable.

Moyes said: "Our job is to focus on the league now although all the lads can hold their heads up after the Chelsea game.

"I took the players away for a few days rest and recuperation.

"We have just finished a very busy schedule and start another gruelling run with the game at Norwich, so we took the opportunity to get away for a few days, work hard and prepare for these games the right way."

One person hoping an enforced rest will make him a better player is Mark Rankine.

The midfielder has been in plaster for much of the year since breaking a bone in his foot in training.

Rankine said: ""It's been a long haul - six weeks and two days of being in plaster.

"I've just started a little bit of jogging and cardiovascular work, but it's nice to be able to come in and do anything at all.

"I had a week away to recover and hopefully that rest will have done me good and I can get back in the next two or three weeks for the last few games of the season"
