WHALLEY Pumas Under 12s recorded their first win of 2002, a 2-1 win at Great Harwood Boys.
Five minutes after the break the Pumas broke the deadlock through match hero Arran McCarthy.
McCarthy scored again soon after but a fine headed goal put Harwood back into the match.
The last ten minutes were tense, with Whalley restricted to counter attacking, but with Ashley Higson in superb form between the sticks and Grant Eddleston and Gary Micallef marshalling the defence, the Pumas held on.
