GOLBORNE Sports stormed into the final of the Mid-Cheshire Cup with a resounding 6-1 semi-final victory over Garswood United.
It wasn't long before Patterson bundled the ball in to open the scoring and apart from a momentary lapse in concentration to gift Garswood an equaliser, the result never looked in doubt with further strikes from Torpey (2) Musins and Woods and another from man of the match Patterson sent Golborne into a mouth watering final against local rivals Daten at the end of March.
Golborne are back in league action on Saturday with an important home game against Linotype and will be trying to maintain their position at the top of the division with another three points, kick off is 3pm.
