THE father of a teenager who went missing after climbing out of her bedroom window nine days ago today renewed his appeal for her to return home.

Rebecca Stuart, 14, who has a history of running away, was briefly reunited with her family nearly two weeks ago, but made off again after stealing the window key.

Her father Roy, 42, said she left the house in Campion Drive, Helmshore, Rossendale, last Tuesday morning between 4am and 8am. Mr Stuart has placed thousands of posters with details about Rebecca all over Rossendale.

He said: "All I want Rebecca to do is come home -- but if she is not ready to do that then I want her to let me know that she is all right.

"I don't know why she keeps running away but all I want to know is that she is safe and well."

Roy has had to take leave from his IT consultancy job to find his daughter. He added: "The company who I work for have been very understanding and have let me have time off so that I can concentrate on finding Rebecca. She has two older sisters who are worried sick about her. They can't understand why she would want to disappear."

Rebecca is 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build, with dark blonde, shoulder length, straight hair and a fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a dark blue fleece jacket, blue jeans with designer rips and a Union Jack logo on the thigh and white Kappa trainers. She had her hair tied back.

Anyone with any information about her whereabouts should contact Burnley Police on 01282 425001 or ring Roy on 01706 228225.
