A YOUNG mother has gone missing from home after a domestic dispute with her partner.

Police today appealed for Kirsty Louise Jackson to get in touch and confirm she is safe and well.

Kirsty, 21, left her home in Queens Road West, Accrington, after falling out with her partner of two years on Sunday night but left her young children behind.

Police today confirmed that she had been in contact with her family and assured them that she was safe and well. But they said they were anxious to speak with her themselves as she was a good mother and would not normally leave her two young children.

Acting Detective Inspector Jim Elston, of Accrington CID, said: "We need desperately to speak to Kirsty to ensure that she is safe and well and there is not anything untoward surrounding her disappearance.

"We know she has given her assurances to her family but it is most unusual for her to leave her children for this length of time and we know she would not do this unless there was a good reason. Kirsty is a good mother and her children are both missing her.

"We need to speak to her in confidence and would urge her to return home to her children or to at least contact Accrington CID and ask to speak to myself or another officer."

Kirsty's children -- Megan, three, and five-month-old Jade -- are currently safe and well and are being cared for by family members until she returns.

When she left at 9.30pm on Sunday Kirsty, who is 5ft 5in, was wearing blue jeans, a pale blue top and a black jacket.

Mr Elston has also appealed to anyone else who knows where Kirsty is to contact police on 01254 353742.
