A BURY FC memorabilia auction on the internet to raise funds for the Save Our Shakers fund got underway from 10am this morning (Tuesday, March 12).
And there are some wierd and wonderful items to go under the hammer such as an inflatable black pudding from the 1980s, the original Shakers song "Up The Shakers" by the Burytones plus a signed England shirt from the recent Holland v England friendly.
A list of items to be auctioned is shown below, however this is not the complete list and many more unique lots are flooding in to the club and will be added to the auction in the coming days.
The auction kicks off at 10am this morning and will close at 4pm on Thursday afternoon.
Items submitted so far are: Stoke City v Bury programme 1962; Bury v Chesterfield programme 1946; Bury v Manchester United programme 1944; Bury FC 1934/35 Handbook; Bury FC Menu Card from 1985 Centenary Dinner; Bury v Chesterfield Play Off Final programme; Bury FC inflatable black pudding; Liverpool signed shirt; Question of Sport tickets - two for an evening Show and six for afternoon shows; Bury FC signed shirt by Colin Bell; Gigg Lane autographed seat by Colin Bell.
Goalkeepers gloves signed by Dean Kiely and Lee Bracey; Gigg Lane seat autographed by Jimmy McIlwraith; menu from Sportsmans Dinner 1982; Bury v Accrington Stanley programme 1958; Question of Sport polo shirt Signed by various sporting stars; The original Shakers song "Up The Shakers" by the Burytones ; Autographed England shirt; Jon Newby's boots.
Around ten years ago, Tower FM and Bury FC website commentator Matt Hardman appeared on the Gigg Lane turf as the match mascot. The club have secured the original picture from that game.
If website manager and auctioneer Gordon Sorfleet receives any bids of over £100 for the photograph, he will place it on an article to be released on Thursday night (March 14).
The picture will then stay on the top of the club's home page for one week, or until Matt himself coughs up enough cash forcing Gordon to remove it!
