SO HERE we go again with spin, misinformation and obfuscation in the matter of the Blobby scandal.

The favourite phrase of the leader of the local Labour group is 'the jury is still out.'

Although his public pronouncements have been limited to 'no comment; he has made this remark repeatedly in semi-public venues over the last four years and, despite phrases such as 'unlawful' and 'imprudent,' by the District Auditor, I am reliably informed that he recently repeated it at a Labour Party meeting.

Needless to say, the jury is not 'still out; at all, It has returned with its verdict and that verdict is that there was unlawful and imprudent conduct.

All that we await is for the ' jury' to tell us who did it!

It is clear that this mythical ' jury' already knows.

It just hasn't told us yet.

Here in Lancaster we have a microcosm of current British politics with all its inherent cowardice, dishonesty and duplicity.

The Tory Party tolerated the Hamiltons, the Aitkens and the Archers of this world and did its best to defend them.

The Labour party, nationally, tolerates transparent shysters like Keith Vaz and Geoffrey Robinson.

It is therefore obvious that there will be no intervention from the Labour Party nationally to sort out this despicable bunch of craven cowards who masquerade as 'Labour' in our city.

Neither is there any salvation in turning to the minority political parties.

The laughable 'Lib-Dems' have co-operated on the council with every attempted cover-up on the Blobby issue.

The Greens have recently exposed themselves as just as slippery as any of the others in your letters pages.

They transparently tried to bluff and obfuscate their way out of a difficult situation of their own making after being exposed by two Labour Party members.

It is entirely besides the point that the two concerned were probably no different than the people that they exposed.

I may well be accused of being cynical and that accusation probably holds some water.

How I would love to be proved wrong.

Is there not one single member of the local Labour party with the sheer guts to say: "Well done, Brigadier Ford?

You have helped to expose unlawful acts that would otherwise have gone unpunished.

"I don't care who has committed these unlawful acts, it is right that they should have been investigated and exposed.

Honesty, integrity and truth come before any real or imagined 'party loyalty' and I take my hat off to you.'

Oh, for such a man (or woman) but I shall not be holding my breath for it.

You've got it wrong mate...

the auditor has now clearly joined in the biggest conspiracy ever between Ford, MI5, Citizen journalists, Nazis and probably Osama Bin Laden to politically damage the Lancaster Labour group - it's true, ask 'em! Ed
