CANCELLED last year due to foot and mouth the 2002 Wray Scarecrow 10K Road Race is very much up and running.

The popular event, which forms part of the famous Wray Scarecrow Festival Week, will take place on Saturday 27 April.

Held on quiet country roads around the village of Wray and affording wonderful views of the Yorkshire Dales, the Race, which is kindly sponsored by Business Serve, is open to runners of all abilities (aged 15 or above).

Teams are also welcomed.

For the more serious athletes the course records to beat are 31.52 (male) and 36.12 (female).

With some great prizes for grabs it's well worth stepping up the pace.

Entry for pre-bookings are £3 (attached) and £4 (unattached) or £1 extra for those entering on the day.

For a number and further information please send a SAE, 9" x 6, to Matthew Emptage, Wray Cottage, Main Street, Wray, Lancaster, LA2 8QF.
