RESERVE team boss Ronnie Jepson was looking for his youngsters to learn a few lessons from their 6-1 defeat at the McAlpine Stadium last night.

The Clarets had the better of the opening exchanges but were stung by two goals just before half-time.

"We got a bit of a pasting, but to be honest we could have been four goals up before they scored," said Jepson.

"But we must learn that we have to take our chances when they come.

"We then let in a couple of goals due to mistakes and it was difficult from there on."

Terriers left-back Doni Clarke fired in the Terriers first beating James Salisbury's in the 37th minute and on the stroke of half time big defender Thomas Jordan netted from close range with Salisbury off his line.

Only ten minutes after the restart and it was 3-0 when Paul Scott rose at the back post to head Fowler's right wing free-kick firmly past Salisbury.

The Clarets got a goal back on 69 minutes when a well worked free-kick saw Earl Davis score against Huddersfied for the second time in seven days.

Huddersfield restored their three goal advantage after an underhit back-pass from Davis, with Senior taking advantage before beating Salisbury with a low drive in the 73rd minute.

With less than ten minutes remaining on the clock, Chris Senior ran onto a long ball from Clarke before finishing confidently past Salisbury with his left foot for his second of the game.

Jordan got his second and Town's sixth with a scrambled effort in injury time to complete the scoring.
