Leigh MR U7s: RESPONDING to the coaching of Mark Ward, Rangers youngest recruits were great with Ward, Parry, Nicholson, Grimes, Boardman, Flannery, Myers and Wolden scoring tries.

Grimes was starman and Danny top tackler with great support from Nicholson and Flannery.

Rangers are obviously enjoying their rugby and look like turning up some future stars.

RANGERS scored a terrific 34-16 win at Oldham against a bigger Waterhead outfit.

Rangers started well and never eased off with the quick and powerful Manfredi (man of match) and Holmes outstanding. They scored a hat-trick of tries apiece. Other Rangers' tries came from Caplis, top tackler Harrop and impressive Crosland. Newcomer Winstanley also shone.

DRIER pitches have brought out the best in the under nines who beat St Maries 24-20 just weeks after being hammered by the Widnes outfit.

Aided by a stiff defence Rangers' Liam Ratcliffe grabbed the winning try and the man of the match award. Aimlias Xenas, Nicholas Jackson and Liam Patient were outstanding in a good team effort.

WHAT a change in fortunes for this Rangers side over the past two seasons.

Full marks to inspirational coaches Terry Sutton and Mark Dainty whose work has brought a near 100 per cent record.

Outstanding in every department they outclassed Grappenhall for an easy victory.

RANGERS rule the roost after emerging victors 36-26 in this intriguing local derby clash with East.

Wilkinson's opening try was goaled by Murphy and after good play by half-backs Speakman and Murphy, Birkett scored. But five penalties had East level-pegging.

Wilkinson scored again off Murphy but after the interval East struck with two tries, a goal and a penalty. But that really stung Rangers into action. Birkett crashed over from a set move and big prop Glover charged in from 20 yards before Wilkinson grabbed his third try. Birkett also got a third try and Murphy got his fourth goal before East had the last word with a try.

Wilkinson and Birkett shared the best performance award with Speakman and Murphy worthy contenders.
