BURY Times sports editor Phil Thorp will be going the extra mile to raise some money for Bury Football Club this weekend.
He will competing in the 22nd Flora London Marathon on Sunday and is on the lookout for sponsorship for the Save Our Shakers fund.
Anyone wishing to sponsor him should send cheques/postal orders to the Bury Times sports desk, PO Box 1, Market Street, BL9 0PF making them payable to 'Newsquest'.
Phil will be representing the club in the Football Challenge section of the race in which every team in Britain has a representative running in their team colours.
The Flora London Marathon is televised live on BBC 1 from 8.30pm on Sunday morning.
