TONY BARROW slips back into the coaching role he knows so well for Swinton Lions game against Chorley in the National Cup at Gigg Lane on Sunday.

Barrow takes over the reins again following the sacking of Tony Humphries earlier in the week.

The Lions had managed just two wins all season and two consecutive defeats that saw the Lions concede 60 points in each led to the inevitable departure of Humphries.

"It was down to results, basically," said Barrow. "Tony Humphries is a tremendous lad and the hardest part was losing one of your mates, which is what Tony was, but there is only one guarantee when you come into coaching -- and that is that you are going to get the sack. You know that when you go into it. Results are what it's all about."

Barrow took his first training session along with Mark Sheals, Humphries' former assistant, on Tuesday, and he openly admits: "I don't know what my team is going to be for Sunday."

Barrow has injury doubts over Craig Dean (ribs) and forwards Dale Holdstock (shoulder) and Phil Cushion (thumb), but he has drafted in loose forward Peter Cannon, who has played at Swinton previously, and half back David Gibbons, both from Warrington amateur club Crossfields, for the rest of the season.

"We'll be having another look at it between now and Sunday before deciding on the team," said Barrow.
