HERE'S a football question for you. . . Liverpool, Chelsea, Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday which club comes next?

It's a fair bet that any would-be Brain of Sport may need more than three guesses because the answer is Tottington United!

The local West Lancashire League club take on Australia's national academy team this weekend, filling in for a Premiership club who had to back out of their fixture against the young Socceroos.

The ACT Under-17 team are taking on all the academies of all four big names mentioned on a national tour but when a gap in their schedule appeared they were only too happy to turn out against the Totty lads.

United manager Stuart Johnson, who joked that he is relishing his first foray into international management, said: "The game was arranged through one of our players Ian Berry who is northern area representative for the International Academy of Cardiff, a company that deals in sports tours.

"He heard about one of the clubs dropping out and the tourists were happy for us to fill in."

The match will give the Tottington side a big fillip after a nightmare end to the season.

They had their dressing rooms wrecked by mindless vandals a few weeks ago and have been playing their home matches away from their St Annes set-up.

Consequently, the game will be played at rivals Todmorden Boro's ground at Bellholme, Walsden and Stuart is hoping for a decent following to make the trip over the Yorkshire border.

"It's a one-off game so hopefully we'll get a decent crowd and we'd like to thank Todmorden for allowing us to use their facilities," he added.

"In fact all the teams in our league have helped us through this difficult time."

Kick-off on Sunday morning is 11am.
