STUDENTS from Mansfield High School in Brierfield are marking the 90th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic with a history project on the theme.
Pupils in Year Nine have been studying the Titanic from its conception through to the building of the "ship that couldn't sink" to its first ,and last, voyage from England to New York.
The local link between the Titanic and Colne musician Wallace Hartley, bandleader aboard the doomed liner, has fuelled the group's interest in the project.
Bradley Spencer, one of the pupils undertaking the project, is pictured laying flowers at the memorial to Wallace Hartley.
