FAIRHAVEN Lake's new pleasure launch hit the water this Easter.

Jubilee has replaced the much-loved wooden My Fair Lady which was withdrawn from service in 1998 after 44 years of happy cruising across the landmark lake.

The £33,000 all-aluminium, electric-powered craft was officially named by Fylde Mayor Patricia Fieldhouse on March 15 in commemoration of the Queen's Golden Jubilee in June.

Fylde Borough Council's chairman of leisure and recreation, John Longstaff, said: "The launch is a valuable asset for both visitors and residents and is a vital part of our tourism product at this popular location."

A 20-minute trip around Fairhaven Lake on the Jubilee will cost £1.20 for adults and 60p for children.
