IT WAS loud, it was overwhelming, it was an utterly storming gig.
Liverpool superclub Cream kicked off its "X10" tour in Blackpool with an (almost) all-nighter until 4am at the Winter Gardens' Empress Ballroom on March 30.
It wasn't hard to see why Cream has risen to the top of the clubbing world. Body-whoomping bass and relentless top tracks from DJs including Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine ensured the will to dance never waned.
I'm afraid this wimp could only manage the non-stop night in trainers, but there were plenty of ladies who bravely sported high heels or knee-high furry boots with their cool club gear.
The blokes were equally as stylish -- one man even had a T-shirt with a built-in graphic equaliser display on the front.
A chunky lighting rig above the dance floor, lights round the balcony and on the stage, three giant video screens behind the DJ and inflatable Cream logos everywhere meant I really did see the ballroom in a whole new brilliant light. Just one criticism though -- the bar queues got a bit massive at times.
