RAMSBOTTOM manager Mike Kelly says he is enjoying being in charge at the Riverside - for the first time since taking over!

The boss, who has been in charge for just over a year, said Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Flixton was the first game he'd watched without getting too strung out.

"We are becoming a very difficult side to beat," he said. "We have only lost one in nine - we have drawn a few of them but it is pleasing.

"I would have paid to watch Tuesday's game, it was very enjoyable, the most enjoyable for me since I took over.

"If you can relax it's much better and it's a good sign. Usually they put you through all sorts of emotions but it is a buzz, and that is why I do it."

The NWCL Division One side have a number of players on the sidelines with top striker Russell Brierley out for the season and Mike Smith (back), Darren Blore (back), Carl Brown (hamstring) also out for the season. Brad Franks (ankle) and Danny Goodall (hamstring) are both doubtful for tomorrow's trip to Mossley.

Carl Lomax should return after being unavailable for Tuesday's game because of work.

"Going to Mossley is always interesting - their fans are more hostile than Clitheroe's!" said Kelly.
