PEOPLE from across East Lancs enjoyed the 47th Burnley Methodist Festival.

Organisers and judges who were asked to mark hundreds of entries said the standard was high.

Nine churches are taking part in the week-long event, closing with a concert at the United Methodist Church at 7pm on Friday.

Bible reading classes were judged yesterday, with choir classes and instrumental music tonight, followed by poetry speaking and reading, mime and drama from 6.30pm tomorrow.
