VILLAGERS in Chipping are making determined efforts to ensure that the Queen's Golden Jubilee is celebrated in style, giving everyone something to look forward to and subsequently remember.

The celebrations will begin on Friday, May 31, when children will take part in environmental work with members of Chipping Wildlife and Conservation Society.

The best decorated house competition judging will be held and, in the evening, The Sun Inn will host a special kings and queens karaoke.

On Saturday, June 1, there will be a coffee morning at the Water Wheel at 10am, followed by an afternoon of fun and games on the school playing fields.

In the evening there will be a 1952-2002 disco at the Tillotsons, when the DJ will be playing hits from the past 50 years.

During the day a photographic display of Chipping through the years, will be held in the village hall.

Sunday will begin with special Jubilee services in all three churches.

A joint Songs of Praise will be held in the evening. During the day the Young Farmers Club will hold a duck race at 2pm. The Tillotsons will host an old tyme singalong in the evening.

A children's party and fancy dress will be held on Monday, June 3, in the village hall and a party for the adults will take place in the evening.

On Tuesday, June 4, a tower open day will be held at St Bartholomew's Church.
