A STUNNING injury time volley from Burnley's teenage striker Damien Hindle has set up a championship decider between the Clarets and Preston North End tomorrow night.

It is winner takes all as far as the Avon Insurance Premier Division crown is concerned as the reserves from both clubs prepare for a real Lancashire hot-pot.

And Preston boss Kelham O'Hanlon, who was at Turf Moor last night to see Burnley beat Barnsley 4-3, admitted: "We normally play our games at Lancaster but I would love this one to be at Deepdale."

O'Hanlon and former Burnley caretaker boss Clive Middlemass had left before the dramatic finale that saw Hindle smash home the stunning winner and Burnley boss Ronnie Jepson was delighted for him.

"Damo's work rate was phenomenal, he never gave up and he really deserved the goal," he said. "It was good experience for him because he was up against a really good pro in Steve Chettle.

"One or two of the young lads tired near the end but they worked very hard against a strong Barnsley side.

"Now we can look forward to the match against Preston tomorrow. It is great to be in with a chance of winning the title but to be honest I don't care where the game is played.

"Perhaps they are hoping to make a few quid by playing at Deepdale as it is an important match but we are looking forward to playing wherever."

O'Hanlon, who has been in charge of the reserves all season before stepping up to replace David Moyes until the summer, will have been impressed with the way Burnley's first three goals came from set-pieces.

"We do work on them and it is nice when they come off," said Jepson after seeing Mark McGregor head home a corner and Andy Payton and Mark Rasmussen net from long throw routines. Now it is game on for tomorrow night as the second string look to give the senior side a morale boosting triumph ahead of Sunday's massive match against Coventry City.

As Jepson explained: "Winning is a great habit to get into and it is good for the clubthat we have a chance of being champions."
