NWCL Division One bottom club Great Harwood secured their first victory in ten games - and that was with a goalkeeping crisis.
Stand-in manager John Hughes stepped between the sticks - something he hadn't done since school - and pulled off two great saves to help Harwood to the win.
Regular keeper Daryll Sloane was injured and Alan Dawson couldn't play. "I quite enjoyed it," said Hughes.
Harwood went behind early on but turned it round just before half time when Warren Peake met a high ball into the box. After the interval Curzon had a ten minute spell where the Harwood defence had to be on top of their game.
But they pulled it back with five minutes left, teenager Paul Walker - who Hughes said was 'outstanding' - scoring the winner.
A number of applicants have been interviewed for the vacant manager's job at the Showground and Hughes will be having a chat with chairman Bill Holden this week.
"We will be having a talk on Wednesday. I haven't been saying 'gimme the job', I will take it only if I am asked," added Hughes.
