ROSSENDALE's remarkable away form continued with another comfortable victory on their travels.

This was their third win on the run away from Dark Lane and the victory also condemned their hosts to relegation back to the Northern Counties East League.

After a dull first half, Rossendale took control after the break.

Paul Howarth had had the first notable effort on 20 minutes but he headed over the Ossett crossbar while Wilson went close for the home side with a flick header.

And Craig Sargeson was unlucky when his low drive hit the post.

The opening goal came in injury time at the end of the first half after another missed penalty. Howarth was the culprit, seeing his spot-kick well-saved by Lanaghan. Sargeson was alert enough to pounce on the rebound and Jerome Fitzgerald headed home.

The second half was one-sided with Rossendale dominating. Sargeson and Chris Clarke came close before Sargeson made it 2-0, chipping the ball over the advancing keeper on 68 minutes.

Lanaghan was single-handedly keeping the home side in it with a series of saves, the best from Fitzgerald.

The third came from an inch perfect free kick from Liam Denning, who curled the ball just inside the post from 20 yards and Sargeson completed the scoring in the final minute, pouncing on a loose ball and firing home.
