BOBBY Robson was pleased with a point.

Robson said: "It WAS a great point. Twice we've come back again and I think we are the champions in that respect.

"But having to come back all these times is not good for the heart, certainly not at my age, but I'm just delighted for everyone connected with the club that we've qualified for the Champions League.

"I always felt we had sufficient staff to do it but then we lost Bellamy which was crucial to us.

"As for Alan Shearer and the England thing, he's a man that doesn't usually change his opinion and we have benefited from that and so has Alan Shearer.

"He's fresher, he's stronger and, as far as I'm concerned, he's packed in with international football.

"He's done his duty to the country and he was one of our national heroes but he still gets booed, mind you, which is unbelievable.

"He's done his bit, though, and now I think it's time for other people."

Alan Shearer believed a point for both teams was a fair outcome, he said: "I thought a draw was a fair result in the end.

"You could tell in the last five minutes that everyone was happy with a point.

"There was some good football played and I think a point now assures Blackburn of Premiership safety and it gets us into the Champions League - so it was a good night all round."
