ORGANISERS of the Nelson Mela in Victoria Park are hoping for another successful turn out after more 3,000 people attended last year.
The multi-cultural event will be on Saturday, July 28, between noon and 7pm, and is being organised by the Nelson Mela Committee, made up of local people, with help from Mid Pennine Arts.
Local people interested in helping to organise the event, which celebrates all things Asian, are welcome to attend a meeting on tomorrow in the Wilson Room, at Nelson Town Hall, at 5.30pm.
Nick Hunt, director of Mid Pennine Arts, said: "Last year it was a very good day which we were delighted with. There are a variety of residents and interested parties organising this year's mela and we are keen to build up that group and would encourage anyone to get involved."
