BLACKBURN winger Damien Duff is ready to put pen to paper on a lucrative new deal with Rovers after pledging his future to the Worthington Cup winners.

Ewood officials are hoping to ward off interest from a host of Premiership big guns -- including Liverpool and Newcastle -- by offering the inspirational Irishman a vastly improved new contract over the next few days.

And Duff has indicated he is ready to talk by expressing his desire to stay at Ewood.

"I haven't heard anything from Blackburn or Liverpool. It's all speculation," said Duff, who has another two years left to run on his current deal.

"I'm happy at Blackburn, especially now that we are safe in the Premiership and we have European football to look forward to.

"I'm in no rush to do anything about my future or go anywhere.

"I'm at a great club, with a great set of lads and a great manager, so there is no reason for me to want to leave.

"Blackburn Rovers is part of my life. I'm a loyal sort of person and, with us being in Europe now, I will not be going anywhere."

Those words will come as a massive boost to manager Graeme Souness who sees Duff as crucial part of his plans.

And Duff himself is excited by what the future holds, insisting Rovers have the players to become a major force in the Premiership.

"We have a young set of players at Blackburn now and the future is very bright," he added.

"I'm only 23 but I'm one of the senior players at the club and that will tell you how many good young players we have on the books.

"After staying up this season, I think we will do a lot better next term and everyone is looking forward to it already, me included."
