A LOWTON farmhouse is being demolished and replaced by a new building.
The new home will be set in 50 acres of Grange Farm land of Stonecross Lane and will incorporate a two- storey extension.
Wigan planners approved the replacement which complies with a string of strict conditions controlling Green Belt development.
Planning chiefs have also given permission for a brick barn already on the site to be used in connection with a landscaping contracting business for storing vehicles, trailers and equipment.
They say the proposal would not create excessive noise, smell, fumes or traffic.
Council planners received seven objections mainly concerning industrial activities in the Green Belt.
