A BLACKBURN man who admitted threatening behaviour has been placed on twelve months community rehabilitation.

Paul Jackson spoke to a man in an aggressive fashion, making him feel too frightened to leave his home.

Jackson, 34, of St Thomas Street, Blackburn, appeared for sentence at Preston Crown Court for offences of threatening behaviour, theft of a credit card and having a bladed instrument.

Mr David Morton, prosecuting, said the victim of the first offence went on to feel ill and that the quality of his life had been affected.

He became too frightened to leave his home after the defendant spoke to him in an aggressive fashion as he left his address on Cherry Street.

The stolen credit card had belonged to a 78 years old woman. Jackson claimed to have found it in a garden.

The third offence involved the defendant having a four inch bladed kitchen knife. He was stopped by police while riding a mountain bike in the Queen's Park Road area.

Judge Pamela Badley told his defence barrister Mr Martin Hackett that she was willing to follow the recommendation of a pre sentence report.

She said that normally she would consider passing a short custody term, but the offences occurred some time ago.
