ALTHOUGH I do not agree with the action of Rossendale Socialist Alliance Party candidate Noel O'Brien in making a political statement in a book of condolence for the Queen Mother about plans to close care homes (LET, April 10), I agree with his meaning.
The drastic measures proposed by the county council need drastic action to let them know how and what the people think.
We need to keep plugging at this issue, not let it slip away into oblivion and be completely forgotten.
The more we shout, and with the help of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, maybe County Councillor Chris Cheetham and his Cabinet colleagues will take note.
Old people need homes and the staff to serve them.
