PADIHAM chairman Keith Clayton is proposing a change to the Ribblesdale League season.

The Arbories chief has been disappointed with the wet start to the 2002 campaign and thinks that delaying the start of the season by a fortnight would help.

He could be ready to lodge a proposal at the annual general meeting next year.

Clayton said: "It has been like this for two or three years. I would prefer the season to start two weeks later, play one more double header and then play on for a week longer in September.

"It would be light enough to do it and it would give the pitches more time to dry out after winter."

Such ideas need to be proposed and seconded at the AGM before a vote.
