A MEETING which could secure the future of a social club takes place tomorrow night.
The Ineos Sports and Social Club, in Bridge Street, Darwen, has been offered to its committee free of charge by the current owners, Ineos Acylics -- the former ICI.
The company wants to end the 50-year link between the club and the two former ICI manufacturing plants in Darwen.
The club's 1,000 members are being urged to attend the meeting at the Bridge Street premises and give the idea their backing by agreeing to support the 'new' club in the future.
The Ineos Group bought ICI Acrylics in November, 1999, in a £505 million deal. The company employs about 300 people in Darwen.
