THE hunt is on across Pendle and beyond for would-be pop stars to enter this year's Starquest talent competition in Nelson
This year's show on June 29, was launched by Italian-born Valentina O'Kelly, of Brierfield, last year's under-16s winner.
Since she won Starquest, Valentina has reached the finals of BBC TV's Saturday Show in an NSYNC karaoke competition but as last year's winner she will have to wait a year before she is able to enter Starquest again.
She said: "Winning Starquest meant a lot to me."
Starquest has cash prizes totalling £1,000 and the chance to perform live on stage in Nelson's Place de Creil.
Would-be entrants should ring 01282 661677. The competition is open only to non-professionals.
