WHEN Bury Football Club went into administration, myself and hundreds of Bury supporters and fans from other clubs around the country, donated money in order to help save the club. We were led to believe that this money was to be used to save Bury FC from going out of existence.

It now appears that some of the funds raised may have been used not for the benefit of the club, but to allow individuals to purchase seats on the Bury FC board. How can this be? If they want a seat on the board, they should pay for it out of their own money.

I for one didn't give my hard-earned cash to fund someone else's ego trip.

Is the same thing going to happen with monies raised by the Forever Bury group. Almost four months on, Bury FC hasn't seen a single penny raised by this group to help secure the club's future. We were told that they would give the supporters the opportunity to have a say in how the club was run, but it seems to us that the current board have decided to divide up the places on the new board between themselves and their friends.

It appears to me, and to many other people, that once again it is the fans who are being asked to provide funding, while those with padlocks on their wallets will do their best to squander the money.
