POLICE have issued a description of a thief who was hit over the head by a shop assistant as he stole £11.09 from the till.
The man entered Booze Busters, in Blackburn Road, Accrington at 7.20pm on June 25 and jumped over the counter.
He put his hand in the till and was hit by the assistant but still managed to escape with the cash.
The man was described as white, 5ft 8in tall, in his early 30s, with blond hair shaven to a No.3 cut.
He was wearing a black and green baseball cap pulled over his face, with a navy, white and red fleece pullover, light-blue denim jeans and trainers.
He spoke with a Scottish or Irish accent.
