EUNICE Faulkner, of Blackburn Cat Rescue, is in desperate need of homes for special animals in her care.
Timid cats, which may have been pets but have been thrown out and left to fend for themselves, need sympathetic, understanding new owners.
Some may be more at home at a farm or at stables.
One cat in urgent need of rehoming is Kye, a tabby aged around three, who has only one eye.
Kye loves sitting by the gas fire and would like a home with a garden.
As he is only partially sighted he will be less able to defend himself against other cats and should not be housed with young children.
