CRAIG BROWN has made his second signing of the summer by adding young Manchester City full-back Tyrone Mears to his squad.

Mears, a 19-year-old Stockport-born right-back, has a agreed a three-year-deal at Deepdale and will provide the cover for North End's first choice right-back Graham Alexander which has been lacking in recent seasons.

Mears completed his time with Man City's Academy in the summer and has played regularly in the past couple of seasons with Dickson Etuhu.

He has also appeared for City's first team, coming on as a substitute in City's 3-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest in March.
