ALMOST 2000 tickets for housewives' favourite Daniel O'Donnell sold out within two days of going on sale at the weekend.

To secure seats for the show at the Guild Hall on Friday, October 25, some older fans even camped outside for three nights last week!

More than 15 women braved the weather queuing at the city centre ticket office with thermos flasks and blankets to ensure their seats to see the Irish singer.

A deckchair was temporarily home for Sheila Allinson, 67, of Inglehead, Fulwood.

The mother-of-two has been following the singer's career for more than a decade and was determined to get the best seat in the house.

"Daniel makes my toes curl," Sheila said. "He is very handsome and a sincere performer. I have seen him in Dublin, Blackburn and Blackpool and we regularly camp out to get the front row. My children think I'm mad.

"We all club in together and take it in turns to watch while someone goes shopping or gets something to eat."

Sheila has met him several times and even carries a photograph of the star and herself in her wallet.

She added: "He knows us all quite well now as we are nearly always in the front row. He has said he feels more relaxed when he walks on stage!"

Other fans even travelled from as far afield as Barnsley, South Yorkshire, to secure tickets.

Only a handful of tickets were left after the Saturday rush but they are also now sold.
