DUE to cutbacks -- despite our ten per cent council tax increase -- South Ribble Borough Council has removed two strategically placed dog waste bins from Farington Park, so adding to the usual litter problem.
Also the hedge bordering the park and Stanifield Lane has not been trimmed which causes a hazard to pedestrians. Despite these cuts, money can be found to have the local lampposts festooned with hanging baskets, plus the maintenance they require, inclement weather or not.
It appears that health and safety are not an option for the residents these days.
