BURY Irwell Vale Rotary Club has a new president in Mr Chris Trees.
Mr Trees (52), of Rowlands Road, Summerseat, has been a member of the organisation for seven years and says he is looking forward to helping the club raise £1,000 to help Rotary International eradicate polio worldwide.
"We will also be continuing our work in the community, from delivering Christmas meals to being involved in reading schemes at local high schools."
Mr Trees is the headteacher of Philips High School in Whitefield and in his spare time is a member of Manchester Wine Society. He also has an interest in World War One and has visited the battlefields on a number of occasions.
He replaces outgoing president Peter Green.
