THE Railway Hotel in Darwen opened yesterday after six months with a new landlady and a new look.
Julie Court from Darwen moved into the pub in Railway Road after she got the good news on Friday.
The former Moorland High School pupil and barmaid at the Highfield, Darwen, and the Hindle in Lower Darwen takes over from Mark Hilton behind the bar.
Julie said: "I'm absolutely delighted, I only found out a few days ago so I haven't come down yet.
"The Railway has been closed for six months for redecoration so we've got a lot of work to do getting back our customers.
"The outside is also getting a spruce up with new hanging baskets, plants and a bench or two."
