A TEAM of former Blackburn Rovers stars will face an Emlyn Hughes celebrity XI in a charity match at Clitheroe FC next month.
The event takes place at Shawbridge on Sunday, August 11 and will involve players from the Hughes era at Liverpool plus Brookside, Hollyoaks and Emmerdale stars (kick-off 12.30pm).
Before the match, a knockout competition will be held between the Under Eights, Nines, 10s and 11s teams from Clitheroe Wolves, Readstone and Chipping.
Tickets cost £2.50 and all money raised will be split between Clitheroe FC and the Ribble Valley Ladies Luncheon Club, who raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Tickets can be purchased from the clubs involved.
A sportsman's evening has been planned for the Stirk House, Gisburn, that evening, which the Emlyn Hughes team will attend. Tickets cost £23 and can be purchased by calling 01200 445581.
