MORE than £1,000 was raised to help improve the area when members of Lodgeside Community Association and Newrad Fisheries Club held their third annual gala.
The event, at Watery Lane, Darwen, on July 6 was saved when Ten Fore Garage, of Kay Street, donated a quad bike to help get equipment on and off the field after heavy rain.
Community Association secretary Rita Billington said: "I would like to thank the bands, all the people who donated prizes, people who gave up their day to man stalls and run events and everyone else who turned up."
