A BUS driver was assaulted by a gang of youths who pressed the emergency engine button causing the bus to stop.

The attack happened at around 9.10pm on Thursday, July 18, close to the junction of Rutland Street and New Hall Lane, Preston.

As the driver confronted the five youths they punched and kicked him, then made off down Scotforth Road. Two of the youths were described as white males under 16. A third was described as big with broad shoulders and wearing a blue striped top. Another was described as tall, of slim build, wearing a cap and a white top.

THIEVES entered an office at Jubilee House at Lancashire Enterprise Park, Leyland, and stole a Kodak DX3600 digital camera. The burglary happened between 4.45pm on Monday, July 15, and 9.30am the following day. The digital camera can be identified by its serial number KJCAJ12710587.

AN elderly woman was approached by a thief on a bike as she walked down Watling Street Road, Ribbleton, at 9pm on Thursday, July 18.

He left his bicycle on the floor and pushed the woman in the back. He stole her carrier bag and rode off. He was described as 5ft 6ins, white, slim, and wore a beige baseball cap and canvas pumps. The bicycle was a cream or yellow mountain bike with thick tyres.

A 28-YEAR-OLD was attacked when he challenged a man about his abusive and nuisance behaviour.

The man who was waiting at Allied taxi rank, Manchester Road, Preston, was hit in the face with a stone by his attacker who ran off towards Avenham Lane with another man at 3.40am on Thursday, July 18.

One of the attackers was described as white, in his late teens to early twenties, wearing a baseball cap and sports kit. The second was white, and wore a dark blue hooded top and possibly tracksuit bottoms.
